Author Profile

Dr. A.T. Francis is presently serving as the University Librarian, Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Thrissur. He has been in the library/teaching profession for more than 35 years. Before joining in KAU, he has worked in NPOL, DRDO, Govt. of India, Kochi; JN College, Lakshadweep and Govt. Medical College, Thrissur. After obtaining M.Com (Financial Management), MLISc and NET/UGC, he did his doctoral studies in the Dept. of Computer Applications, Cochin University of Science & Technology. He has also done Diploma/Certificate level courses in Computer Applications, Network Administration, Library Automation, Digital Library Software, etc. Cherian K. George is presently working as the Chief Librarian of Union Christian College, Aluva, Kerala. He started his professional career as Reference Librarian in Kerala Agricultural University when it was embarking on developing its fully automated University Central Library; and now he completed more than 25 years in the library/teaching profession. He received his MLISc from Univerasity of Calicut, India and then MLIS from McGill University, Canada. He has got Advanced Training in Library Technology from USA and Belgium, and had won the prestigious VLIR Fellowship, Belgium in the year 2005. He had coordinated two conferences, and presented papers in national and international seminars. Dr. V.S. Swapna is presently working in Kerala Agricultural University and has been in the library/teaching profession for about 10 years. She has worked as Librarian in College of Horticulture, Vellanikara, Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Malappuram and University Central Library of KAU. Before joining in KAU, she has worked in the Library of Kerala Sahitya Academy, Thrissur. After completing BA, BLISc, MLISc and NET, she did her doctoral studies in Karpagam University. She has also done short courses in KAU, Bharathiar University and Kerala University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and published eight articles and co-authored one book.

About The Book

The articles included in this book are selected by peer review from the papers presented in the National Seminar on Academic Inclusion of Librarians jointly organized by the College of Horticulture and the University Central Library of Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Thrissur, in collaboration with the Academic Library Association (ALA) during 04-05 November 2016. Contributors of the articles included in this volume are mostly from universities, colleges, research institutions and other academic institutions with sufficient knowledge on library management and services, library education and teaching, digital technologies, etc. This book will be useful for library professionals, research scholars, information users and students.
