Dr. Mukesh Kumar completed his Doctorate in Horticulture from College of Agriculture, CCS HAU, Hisar during 2006 and joined as Assistant Professor and equivalent in 2012. During his scientific career he worked in teaching (UG and PG), research and extension at different stations of CCS HAU, Hisar. He guided 10 PG and PhD students. He is prolific writer and written about 50 research paper and more than 120 abstracts, book chapters, poplar articles etc. in national and international journals and magazines. He has two gold medals, recommended three technologies and one patent has also been granted to him by Govt of India.
Dr. Jeet Ram Sharma completed his post-graduation from College of Agriculture, CCS HAU, Hisar during 1987 and joined university services during 1990. During his scientific career he worked in teaching (UG and PG), research, extension at different stations of CCS HAU, Hisar and completed Ph.D. (in-service). He serves 13 years on different administrative posts. He guided 17 PG and PhD students. He is creative writer and written about 105 research paper and more than 170 abstracts, book chapters, poplar articles etc. in national and international journals and magazines. He recommended three technologies two hybrids are in pipeline for recommendations.
About The Book
The book Fundamentals of Horticulture covers the topics such as importance and scope, classification, soil and climate, planning and layout, dormancy, juvenility, flowering, pollination, reproduction, unfruitfulness, fruiting, fruit drop, propagation and propagation structures, application of growth regulators, irrigation, manure and fertilizers etc., with pictorial and graphic representations to understand the concepts clearly. This book may be helpful for students of graduation in horticulture/ agriculture, post-graduation and preparation for JRF/SRF/NET and other competitive examinations. It will also serve the purpose of researchers, extension workers, orchardist and others interested in fruit cultivation. This book contains basic information which are generated on long term basis by different researchers, the authors have complied the informations in their best ways. In spite of their best efforts, they do not claim this book is complete in all sense it may have some shortcomings, the authors will be really grateful to receive the suggestions and criticism from the readers for improvement and incorporation in forthcoming issues.
