Author Profile

Prof. T. Pullaiah is a former Professor at the Department of Botany at Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, India, where he has taught for more than 35 years. He has authored 52 books, edited 23 books, and published over 330 research papers, including reviews and book chapters. Professor Pullaiah received his PhD from Andhra University, India, attended Moscow State University, Russia, and worked as Post-Doctoral Fellow during 1976-1978. Prof. K. Chandrasekhar Naidu, is a retired Professor of Botany, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He obtained his Ph.D degree in Botany from Andhra University in the year 1982. He has more than 30 years of Teaching and research experience in Andhra University. Chandrasekhar Naidu authored 2 books and published about 80 Research Papers in National and International Journals. Prof. K. Lakshminarayana is retired Professors of Botany, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He has been in the teaching faculty from 1979 to 2012. He has completed five research projects and has published about 100 research papers in several National and International journals of repute. Prof. B. Hanumantha Rao obtained his M.Sc. (Gold Medalist) and Ph.D. Degrees from Andhra University. He is a former Professor, Head and Chairman Board of Studies in the Department of Botany, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, with many years of Teaching and Research experience. Prof. Rao published more than 80 Research Papers in Journals of National and International repute. P. Suresh Narayana was a Junior Lecturer in S. S. B. N. Junior College, Anantapur where he taught for more than 37 years. He is a member of a few scientific societies of India. He also organized a couple of symposia in Plant Sciences and Biotechnology, Quiz programmes and elocution and essay writing competitions. He is also an Executive Member of a few local educational institutions and organizations.

About The Book

This is the revised edition of our earlier book Plant Development. Based on the opinion of the teachers and students we retitled this as Plant Anatomy. This book was written taking into consideration of UGC syllabus of M.Sc. Botany/Plant Sciences. This book brings together information on the widest range of topics in Plant Anatomy in a single source. This book is written to cater to the needs of Post-graduate students of Botany. The text divided into 21 chapters is thoroughly revised taking into consideration modern developments like Programmed Cell death.
